Ye Olde Plough House is a beautiful barn style wedding, located Near Brentwood in Essex. For wedding photography or videography Ye Olde Plough house has a beautiful main barn and lovely grounds. I’ve photographed many weddings in all seasons here and it’s always a pleasure to come back.
Preparations at Ye Olde Plough House
For your preparations at Ye Olde Plough House you will have a room at the back and if you’ve booked the honeymoon suite that will be available for some photos too. There are also 67 bedrooms available if your guests would like to stay.
Ceremonies at Ye Olde Plough House
Ye Olde Plough house sometimes operates two weddings on the same day, one will be in the Cavalier suite, ideal for small to medium size weddings and the other in the Monks Barn, ideal for medium to large weddings (60+ guests).
The Guests will arrive at the bar area and may mingle inside or outside the patio. Leading off from the bar is the Cavalier suite on one side and the Monks Barn on the other.
There is also the option for an outdoor ceremony too if the weather is fair, all arranged off the Monks barn.

Drinks Reception
After the wedding ceremony guests will mingle at the bar or in nice weather outside on the patio featuring a lovely waterfall with shrubs and flowers.
Group photos at Ye Olde Plough House
The group shots can be taken in the convenience of the pond garden where everyone will probably be gathering. You can of course choose the courtyard or even the larger grounds outside. There'll usually be some lawn games too that will keep your guests entertained.
Couple Photos at Ye Olde Plough House
When it's time to capture some lovely couple photos a short walk through the well kept grounds along the winding path is perfect. There’s beautiful planting and mature trees for backdrops. You’ll also have the bridge over the little stream and stone arches too.
Wedding Breakfast
The Monks barn was originally built about 1650. You’ll have views of the grounds, oak beams and wood flooring. The Monks Barn can cater for large wedding parties up to 170 seated guests.
The Wedding Party at Ye Olde Plough House
During the drinks reception the Monks barn is re-arranged for your evening party. They’ll be table and chairs and a large dance area. The layout is ideal as all of your guests can be in the same area. Of course in warm weather the guests will also enjoy the outside patio area overlooking the grounds with plenty of tables and chairs.
